What's going to happen to humans and their surroundings if they don't purchase and eat organic foods?
Do you buy and eat organic foods or use organic ingredients? Which ones? There is a dirty dozen+ list of items you should only buy organic but plenty of people can't or won't buy organic. |
| People are already sick. This is the first time a generation is not as healthy as generations that came before them. Diabetes, cancer, autism, you name it. Eat organic. |
+1 But people still aren't sadly. |
|
Are things that are labeled organic actually organic?
Who is checking anymore? A DOGE USDA agency? Should we continue to buy trusting organic is organic? Public education to teach to eat organic.is needed. More MOM's stores are opening. Roadside fresh produce stands, but they are not organic, are local |
| People on this board might know to eat organic but does the average American? |
| Organic just means they can't use 6 or so specific pesticides. The plastic the food is wrapped in, heated etc is so much worse. |
| Organic produce |
That's bad, too. School lunches are the worst -- food heated and microwaved in plastic trays. You'd have to be an idiot not to know that leeches plastic into the food we feed our kids. Insanity. |
It's hard to find any by the current definition of "organic" unless you know what you are doing and growing your own from non GMO products to begin with, and not using store bought fertilizers but only compost from organic sources themselves. Then you have to use captured rainwater (don't get look up the laws against doing that) and when you wash your produce you have to use natural rainwater or else distilled water you distill yourself. It's tough. |
We do all this but use well water, it’s not that difficult at all. |
Having well water is nice if it's good deep water. Consider youself really lucky. |
The average American cannot afford to pay for organic food. |
Or any foods? Food pantries are struggling too. If you can, donate to SOME or a food bank near you. |

Absent any actual evidence that the residual pesticides and herbicides left on conventional produce is at or beyond a toxicity level for humans, there’s no reason to eat “organic”, especially without blinded comparison studies. It is all a marketing scam.
The best they have is that x substance is toxic in far larger doses than humans are exposed to in produce. The second best are p-hacked correlative studies that only the science illiterate believe are causal. Root vegetables do concentrate an awful lot of chemicals, particularly heavy metals. But this is due to the pollution of our air and water, which gets into the soil. Some conventional substances add to the concentrations, but then again so do some organic. The most compelling reason for so-called organic practices is for the overall environmental health. The idea that organic produce makes a difference in personal health is pretty silly. As for people now being the first generation to be less healthy than the last… we’ve seen a recent decline in life expectancy. Car accidents, gun violence, suicide, opioids/drugs, have also gone way up. Cancer survivability has actually improved. More cancer is being diagnosed than in the past which is multi factorial. There’s even some who are investigating whether we diagnose and treat too much cancer (ie the cancer people have they won’t die from). As for autism… I mean, I don’t even know where to start with that. The autism diagnosis has broadened so much, it’s thrown around to explain everything, and it’s not caused by conventional produce (which was MORE common in previous decades). MAHA has brainwashed people. |
Monsanto and Dow Chemical has entered the chat.
