Graduation 2026

Are ceremonies happening at same venues as last year - Strathmore, UMBC, some schools on their football field, UMD ? Can schools/senior class request a different venue if enough interest among seniors and staff at a high school?

Parent of a senior and we haven't heard anything about this yet.

No word yet. When my older kids graduated they did a student/parent survey but I don’t know if they do that anymore.

when my oldest graduated (‘24), I do remember a survey.

We did have it at UMBC and I hope to have it there again.

Your principal has likely already made this decision as part of their budgeting for the upcoming school year. They likely made this decision in May or June.

Strathmore wasn't one of the venues last year.

Did not hear any Principal asking for venue preferences of graduating students. Nor the staff

BOE votes on locations, usually late-November

I don't remember the principal asking me for either of our 2 who have already graduated on our preference. We were told, and we showed up

Even though the timing seems off, the language in the section about Xfinity Center suggests this was authorizing funds for the 2025 graduations, not 2026.
