Wave pools look so chaotic, maybe all children who can’t touch bottom should have life jackets?

Hersheypark “encourages” weak or non swimmers to use a life vest, free, first come first served. That’s probably going to change.
Those lifeguards are top notch, it’s a very stressful job. But parents or guardians (or whatever adult is with them) must also keep a close eye. |
| Or maybe parents of non swimmers should maintain awareness that their kid can't swim. Or can't swim well. I'm so over all the drownings. |
| Wave pools are NOT for beginners. I can't believe they even let little kids in there. |
| I’m not registering for that site – does it indicate that the child couldn’t swim? |
Sometimes kids go in groups, their parents may not have even been there. |
|
Is there a sign that says to enter at your own risk (although lifeguards are on duty)?

The kid was 9 years old. |

| This is SO sad. |
| I went once to a wave pool and consider myself a good swimmer. It was scary so I vowed never again! |
I’m not sure what your point is here? Kids often go to amusement parks with camp groups and other summer programs, and might be attending unaccompanied by their parents. (Apologies if you meant something different. I can’t access the article.) |
| My DS was just there on Wednesday. So sad. |
| Hershey Park is a dump. I would never take my children there. |
