USYS National Championships 2025

Looks like there's 4 Maryland clubs there ... Good luck to them. Am I missing anyone else from this region?

PPA 10G Green (MD)
Maryland Rush 06G Royals (MD)
ASA Juventus Elite 2009 (MD)
FC Fredrick 09B (MD)

Also, they live-stream games for free on YouTube -- unlike some other leagues that require $$$.

I realize they can call these tournaments whatever they want, but yet another National Championship?

Yes, this is a problem in youth soccer. Every league has their own national championships -- it actually fits the P2P system well, though -- as you can crown MORE teams and lead parents to believe it's all worth the $$$.

Still, it's why no one really can claim to be the best team in any age group. Sure, we've got a rankings app but it has favorites. Best way to settle things always is on the field.

This is the original national championship. So yes there are other national championships.

Anyone know what the deal is with the us club soccer national championship. It doesn’t even appear to be an actual championship because every age group has 2 separate divisions that don’t play each other. Looks more like just another tournament.

Just soccer? You mean all of youth sports? Every sport has multiple leagues that have “world champions” and “national champions”, etc. My neighbor’s kid plays in a “World Series Championship Tournament” every weekend. 🤣

I just hosted a National Championship last weekend at the park after our bbq! Next year, I think I'll charge for parking! hehe

To follow-up, none of the Maryland teams advanced past the group stage. Still amazing run to get there.

• 1 tied for first but lost on tie-breaks – Maryland Rush 06G Royals (MD)
• 2 tied for second – ASA Juventus Elite 2009 (MD), PPA 10G Green (MD)
• FC Fredrick 09B (MD) was 4th but had a couple of ties.

Yep! Both teams have been very strong for a while. Great for the club to have them both at USYS nationals.

I actually don't mind the multiple "national championships." These are kids sports, not pro ball. There should be multiple avenues to find success, even if it doesn't fit our adult version of competition. Nationals is a big achievement for any of these leagues and the kids who make it there have worked very hard for a long time. I have no issues with "nattys" for USYS/USClub/ENCL/GA/MLSnext/ECRL/Presidents cup/DPL...etc. That's still not very top championships for the millions of kids who play travel soccer. (USYS registers 2.5 million each year alone).
