Jen Hatmaker

He only became a pastor because it was a path to power with the least resistance considering his upbringing. But he knew himself, that he’s a piece of shit. He’s not like Jen able to fake longterm. So he turned to substances to deal with the dissonance. Even before his friend died, he knew he was a fraud.

AGREE!!! They both are. I went to ANC and there was a facade of humility and grace but if you took just a small step back and observed how they interacted with people who weren’t in their little inner circle— like Trey and Jenny and Shonna and her dude, and a couple of others…. They couldn’t give any less F’s. If it didn’t advance their personal agenda, they didn’t care. I admire they adopted Ben and Remi, but I hate to admit that I think that was also a bit of an attn seeking play.

Her book might hit number one for a week or two because she'll order it for her book clubs to boost the numbers. Probably not going anywhere near 300k or even 50k, but it'll make a splash.

I read his substack posts and they seem pretty honest. He takes responsibility for his part, but also claps back at some of the junk that she has woven, like the idea that she was instantly a single mom and he was nowhere to be found in their kids' lives. Out of the two of them, I feel like he's taken the high road and moved on repeatedly, whereas she just continues to whine about how devastating his betrayal was. It'll be interesting to see if she takes responsibility for anything she contributed to this in the book or if she just continues to play the blindsided victim.

That is, until it wasn't useful anymore. The sad wake of spiritual devastation caused by these two among woman, couples, and families is pretty horrible. And for what prize?

You really think this "gnaws at them?" I don't. I don't think either one of them has that much ability to truly reflect and be critical of their own actions. They're both narcos to their core.

There was a wave of adoption bloggers during the early 2000s. A lot of them seemed performative.

Of course he's moved on. He caused the destruction in his family life by drinking and pill popping, then not taking the proper steps to deal with depression and loss. His betrayal was devastating.

I hate the shill and wish she'd drop Big Sass. He's fake as hell.

I can't imagine it will hit #1 this week or next with new books out my Kamala Harris and Brene Brown, honestly.

She'll probably be able to point to Awake being a bestseller on New York Times' non-fiction list for a week, which isn't really an accomplishment with pre launch bulk buying.

It looks like Jen's publicist worked to get her story on TMZ and the New York Post among others. Pay to play. But what's obvious is that the general public has no idea who these two people are and the engagement with the posts are tiny versus their usual content. But money talks.

Only the likes of Jen would pay to try to become social media gossip fodder.

Jen is so boring. Why would TMZ care about a mommy bloggers divorce? Not like anyone was murdered as a result.

I saw it on my feed as "HGTV's Jen Hatmaker" and the people commenting seemed genuinely confused about who she was.

Stories like this and our response to them make me sad for the human race.
