DH curses non-stop

Anonymous
My DH has a terrible mouth. he curses constantly for no good reason. It’s been getting worse as he ages. I’ve been asking him to stop as it really turns me off, and comes off as trashy. he says I’m being uptight. What do you think?

I think there's a time and a place. And if someone is offended by F-bombs then the time you spend around them is NOT the time to drop them.

He needs to control himself

I agree it comes off as trashy and low class.

Compromise. No swearing in public. At home is fine. In the car is fine if the windows are up.

I have the same problem with my DH. Following.

Same problem. It’s coarse and his way of venting or showing off when he feels vulnerable, depending on the situation, and I hate it.

Tourette's.

My wife swears.

OP here. Home is where it most bothers me because he does it a LOT in front of our kid. It seems so unnecessary, and sets a bad example.

As a DH reading these forums- Women seem to have a turn off or frustration with everything their DH does. The worst part is they are almost always validated, rarely rebuked for creating massive issues over minor annoyances. Picking your battles sounds like a foreign concept because every imperfection is therapy or divorce worthy.

Most men dislike a lot of things their wives do, but let them go because most are not worth creating a fight or getting resentful over. Peace and comfort in a home and relationship seems to have no value from the feminine perspective. I hope I am reading too much into a complaint board, but it is just disheartening to hear all the drama created over nothing.

If he’s eating you, he doesn’t have the ability to curse.
