Ban sandals

Anonymous
After reading this other thread in Beauty forum https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/1273404.page. do you think sandals and flip flops should be banned for everyone? Water proof shoes instead if need something to wear near water/in water.

Who would enforce the ban?

Above all, feet need to be healthy. Man-made materials increase stinkiness. Soles should support supination or pronation. Aeration is good for feet, but exposure to sunlight increases cancer risk, so act accordingly.

It's less about looks than health.

Yes they should be banned.

How about you just not buy them if you don’t like them? Stop telling everyone else what to do. You are not important.

Stop looking at feet! Unless someone had particularly nasty feet (like my old CWer who had overgrown fungus toe nails …) I’ve never even noticed a foot.

Is this some kind of weird f*tish thread? Does Jeff need to look into this?

It's currently 89 degrees with a dewpoint of 75 degrees. The sandals stay.

You want me to wear socks in 95 degree weather all summer? (No, closed shoes without socks are disgusting, the only options are sandals and socks.)

Why not? Men do that every summer.

I like the way my husband looks in the summer with tanned legs, well kept feet, and a pair of tan suede Birkenstocks. This is a good look on a fit, well-kempt man.

I also grew up in California and lots of men where Tevas or similar. Those Adidas slides were popular when I was in high school and college. I don't find that attractive but I don't have a problem with it. It makes sense for an outdoorsy, athletic lifestyle in a warm climate.

Love all my cute sandals and will wear them as early as possible in the spring and as late as possible in the fall. You don't like 'em, don't wear 'em, but don't ick on my sandals: my feet, my choice

Foot sweat. Smells. Just wear sandals or socks.
