Where are the nice tops with sleeves and normal backs?

Anonymous
I can’t be the only one who doesn’t like my upper arms and wants sleeves. Normal sleeves, without ruffles and weird details. And who doesn’t want a weird cut-out topped with a bow on the back of a top. I want nice, cotton tops with sleeves. With some style. Boden has some good ones but can’t there be more than that? Am I doomed to Lands’ End? I think I’m going to start sewing again. It’s really hard to create a good, small wardrobe. (…..Also, I’m not so down for on Lands’ End. At least it’s real fabric.) Women’s clothing makers need to do better.

I don’t know but I absolutely sympathize. Sleeves have been weird for years now.

Yes! We finally got rid of the horrendous "cold shoulder" look and now the stupid tulip sleeves are everywhere. Regular short sleeves please!

Time for this classic DCUM thread.

Cold shoulder can die a (quick) death.
I do love cap sleeves/flutter sleeves and probably tulip sleeves. I hate having anything touching right on my armpits. Armhole of a tank top with a bit of coverage on the shoulders is perfect.

Ooh, opposite here - I want my armpits covered.

Tulip and flutter sleeves are terribly unflattering on me, as are bows. I look like im trying to wear children's clothes.

OP, try Talbots and the depths of the Macy's website.

Where on Earth are you shopping? I only am encountering normal, classic shirts.

I found some shirts online at Kule last summer with normal sleeves. Not cheap even on sale but since I have t seen them anywhere, I bought a few of them.

Yes! I’m short (and older) and the puff sleeves are ridiculous. I’m also so sick of tiered dresses/skirts. When will it end?

Soon, I hope. These are not flattering on me.

I agree with you and can't find any. I started weight training 3 months ago and while I haven't lost a single pound (not one!), my arms are toned up enough to manage sleeveless or very short sleeves.

I wish I could offer a faster solution but that's all I got.
