One time I was taken a route thru Chappaqua NY on my way back from Cape Cod and I’ve yet to be able to recreate it

The same for a playground at a rest stop in Connecticut. I think the town was Wellington? willington?

I’ve never been able to recreate either route! What am I missing with the new routes I am taken?

I use Waze or Google Maps fwiw.

For the chappaqua route, I’d bet you ended up taking 84–>684—>saw mill pkwy—->tappan zee bridge

684 seems more likely, but maybe there was a major slowdown on it.

Do you remember any landmarks?

Both are unlikely routes from Cape Cod. Chappaqua is well north of the Merritt.

There was a lot of heavy traffic that year. I can’t remember if it was the year there was Bike Riding shutting down lanes on GW Memorial Bridge or if that was a different year.

Either way - there was absolutely heavy traffic along the Chappaqua route. Tree lined maybe two lanes the majority of the way and they merged due to construction

It is well north, but we've been routed from points north in Westchester down to the Merritt to get to Cape cod bc traffic along that entire Northeast corridor can be wild and the Merritt is still often best. I don't know what route from the DC area would have you as far north as chappaqua to begin with unless you were going to take 84 but conditions changed and you were then rerouted south back to the Merritt?
