| So I’m hoping a lawyer can chime in here. Did the Trump v. CASA ruling determine that nationwide injunctions are stayed? So does that mean the administration can start the reorganization/RIF process at the various agencies? Or everyone except the plantiffs (members of the AFGE?) Or is that a separate issue that’s still TBD? |
| My question too! |
|
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Way to go, Supreme Court. |
| My take is that AFGE and I think also NTEU members at the agencies named in the suits are still OK, for now. NBUs, anyone represented by other unions at those agencies and of course agencies not named in either suit are subject to being RIFd. |

Reddit seems to think it does not affect the rif case

| I saw this, but I’m not sure how valid it is. I have been wondering what is going on at State today: https://www.govexec.com/workforce/2025/06/mass-layoffs-likely-remain-blocked-now-thanks-supreme-court-footnote/406381/?oref=ge-author-river |
| Ugh, so I guess we still don’t know for sure. |
Yup and anyone saying otherwise is making stuff up |
+1 |
| So there doesn’t seem to be any updates today. Do you think we’ll hear something on July 3rd. |
Never - we think we’ll hear something never. It will happen when it happens (if it happens) So stop worrying |
| The SC issued its orders today at 9:30. Nothing about Rifs or the injunctions. I know we are not safe because the shadow docket response could pop up at anytime, but is anyone seeing this as a positive? Kagan has had ample time to respond and aren’t many of them now heading out on vacation? |
Where are you seeing them? Did they rule on Dept of Ed? |
| No go to Supreme Court website and click on Orders. Also CNN is reporting. |
| I wondered the same thing. What’s next for this case and potential timelines? |
