I don’t understand this mentality

Playing kids sports during the summer afternoon when it’s 90 degrees.

Why not only schedule games after dark when it’s cooler?

And WTH are they making kids “warm up” an hour before the game?

The kids will be exhausted and overheated even before the stupid game starts.

If moms ran athletic leagues, this would never happen.

After dark? So at 8pm?

No one is forcing you to play Janet. Perhaps your snowflake should sit this one out

You could also not sign your kid up for outdoor sports/activities.

I hate this too but it's impossible in the summer when it stays light until 9.

At a certain point it's just how sports work. There were moms on my kid's travel team would who text the group chat to ask if practice was off for rain or cold. I mean, I'd never want to do it, and there were 1 or 2 times I was like "you know, no practice today" but you can't really hold up the whole team.

Yeah, moms definitely want to start all sports games at 10 pm when it is nice and dark! Oh and let’s waste tons of electricity lighting every sports field in America while we keep our kids up until midnight. Great idea!

Sure.

Many fields have lights.

Better yet: why not simply cancel when it’s nearly 90 degrees (more with the heat index)?

ICYMI: nobody is having fun. It’s miserable. And it’s actually dangerous.

Well this mom would simply skip holding games over the summer.

Evening practices every now and then when it isn’t brutally hot would be fine…if necessary.

8pm would be fine. At least it will be closer to 80 than 90 at 8.

FTR I didn’t sign my kid up…dads tend to handle such things.

With travel sports, it’s year round…and imho miserable.

Your kid will not be missed on the team.

Most fields don't have lights—it's really hard to find lit fields in DC and Moco (speaking as a parent of a soccer player who travels 1+ hours to find lit fields in November).

Carry on.

Hahahahahahah. You think it ends in high school? Ha. The only way you make these high school teams is to be on, and stay on, your club teams.
