Our power went out last night and Dominion somehow thinks our power is back on in our neighborhood.
Despite reports from me and neighbors, the outage still isn't showing up. There's a pole down so it isn't getting fixed with a switch. How do you get them to acknowledge the outage when their "computer says no". I spoke to an agent who says everyone has to report the outage again. Even after that call, the map shows no outage. |
| Keep reporting it. |
I've done it about ten times and convinced all the neighbors to do it too and still the Dominion computer thinks we're ok. Incredibly frustrating. |
Is it just the map that says you are OK, or do the operators also claim that? I'd ignore the computer if actual humans are aware of the situation. |
| Have you picked up the phone and talked to someone? |
| The computer that updated the website lost power. |
*cough* |
| Dominion sucks ass. They took away the option to report a downed line. That used to be the only way you could get a live person. |
Yep. And so has the neighbor with the pole down in their yard who asked them to mark the outage on their map, but no change. |
You can call a phone number and press option 3 (I think) which did result in a live person. |
Sorry, that's from a Little Britain skit with David Walliams who plays Carol, a hospital receptionist, who always says "computer says no". So true. |
Yeah and then s/he coughs. *cough*. I'm with you. Thought you'd be quicker than you are. |
| Dominion power is one of the worst companies in America. They know about trees on the line, constant power outages in both Arlington and Alexandria and do nothing about it all the while charging you way too much per KW. They don't even offer reduced usage times like every other power company in America does. |
| The neighborhood outage still isn't showing up. Anyone else facing this problem? |
| Take pics and call them out on social media, and call local news to ask them to investigate. |
