If it's Iran -

No one wants a nuclear Iran, OP. Even sworn enemies of Israel! Iran doesn't have many friends apart from Russia and North Korea.

So whether you're an anti-Semite or anti-Zionist or whatever, shouldn't really change your view that if Israel wants to knock out Iran... they're basically doing the job for the entire world.

We can discuss whether right now is the right time, how much should the US support Israel, etc... and certainly no country, not even the US, wants to puts boots on the ground over there.

But Iran is the weakest it's been in decades. Hezbollah and Hamas are significantly reduced. And Bibi wants to stay in power, distract from his legal struggles and his little mass destruction in Gaza. So now is as good a time as any.

Iran is not close to the bomb now, but under current conditions it would have gotten there one day. So either you make deals to kick the can down the road, that you know will never be honored, because it's not possible to supervise a hostile country's nuclear program in its totality (they can, and will, separate various steps into different labs and some of them will be secret); or you go in and take them out.

What better time to take them out than when that country is weakened and has far less support than before?

B. What Israel wants is regime change, and we saw how that went after the USSR and after Saddam in Iraq.

The Iran deal was the cheat. Iran develops better and better centrifuges using other chemicals, lowering the time needed to process uranium to bomb-grade.
