So either you make deals to kick the can down the road, that you know will never be honored, because it's not possible to supervise a hostile country's nuclear program in its totality (they can, and will, separate various steps into different labs and some of them will be secret); or you go in and take them out. What better time to take them out than when that country is weakened and has far less support than before? BTW, I'm not advocating for war! A. I don't like to see civilians die. B. What Israel wants is regime change, and we saw how that went after the USSR and after Saddam in Iraq. I'm just explaining the military reasoning here. Some people are ready to risk new global flashpoints, new dictatorships and the development of more terror cells... to avoid the specter of a hostile and unstable country wielding nuclear weapons.
