Virgin Atlantic to London

- do we need plug in (old school) headphones?

- our flight leaves at 5:50pm (ugh, changed from 10pm.) They say they are serving a meal in economy. I assume this is dinner? Or breakfast?

- any other tips? Haven’t been to Heathrow in 20 years.

Yes dinner, and a cold breakfast about an hour before landing. Yes the entertainment system needs a regular 3.5mm headphone plug.

I love Virgin Atlantic and I’ve flown with them many times to LHR. Never had a bad meal and the service is wonderful. When you get to Heathrow you tap your credit card to get onto the tube - Elizabeth Line gets you into the city. Enjoy.

We are flying to LHR as soon as school is out and taking the same flight but flying from 8a to 8p. We are excited! It says it has a snack and a meal. We flew TAP last year and the food was delish. My kids who are picky ate everything. I hope it is comparable to TAP. After meals, we all take sleeping gummies to get good rest. Happy travels!

OP, we are on the same flight! I mean, probably not the same day… Also moved from 10p to 5:50, which i am not pleased with.

Do they give you the old school headphones on board? Or do we have to buy the converter thingies?

Nm, I see in the link you DO get headphones

Must be out of JFK. There is no daytime flight out of Dulles to London.

Considering this daytime flight next spring. Let me know how it goes! Because the overnight flights to Europe are never long enough to get proper sleep.

DP here. Yes, this flight does not exist from DC. They must be repositioning to NY or they don’t live here.

I stopped flying them when they got rid of the late flight…

OP here. It comes and goes. We booked the late flight. Then they changed it. At that point I had already converted points to Virgin so I couldn’t change airlines. Free is free.

PP here. We caught a TAP night flight to Portugal and it was excellent. 5:30p - 5:30a. We ate dinner, cleaned up and brushed our teeth and took sleeping pills to wake up refreshed at 5:30 in the morning. We stowed our luggage in a supermercado and spent all day touring a castle.

We flew Virgin from London two years ago, after our delta flight got canceled. Excellent flight, love the crew and plane. Left and arrived on time. They give you so much food, lots of snacks. It is now our preferred airline to London.

OP here. Crew and catering on the flight were excellent. The touch screen tvs did not work well and I still think next time I want a layer overnight flight. It was brutal landing at 6:30am London time with our bodies feeling like east coast 1am.
