Looking for a 4-5 night getaway with my husband in July. Which one do you recommend? Is there a particular hotel or resort you like on either island? Is there more to do in one rather than the other? |
I love the Britishness of Bermuda, the pastel houses, afternoon tea, and the moderate weather. Aruba is desert-y. |
Bermuda is much easier to get to, so I would pick that one. |
I burned so quickly in Aruba even with sunscreen not in the summer. I'd go to Bermuda. |
Barbados |
Both are pretty cliche |
In the summer -- Bermuda. Aruba will be blazing hot. |
If you could do a full week, Aruba. Bermudan for a smaller time. Both have their charms but Aruba will be hot.🥵 |
Have not been to Aruba. Bermuda is such a quick direct trip, so easy for shorter vacation. Friends recently stayed at the Rosewood and would recommend.

Aruba is so windy and Americanized.
So not there. |
Bermuda by far but be very careful or avoid the motor bikes. |
+1 so very windy, and you’d better take sunscreen very seriously. Practically all of the tourists are sunburned. |
For a couples' trip, Bermuda. Aruba is HOT and more for families. |
What do you mean be very careful? Of what? |
Summer and fall, meanwhile, have their own weather risks. Hurricane season stretches from June to November, and Bermuda lies in the middle of what's known as "hurricane alley." Direct hits are rare — according to the Bermudian, the destination tends to see just one damaging tropical storm every six or seven years. But combined with summer's steep prices, high humidity, and large crowds, the possibility might be the tipping point for extra-cautious travelers.
