Do you truly think MAGA would be willing to go face to face and commit violence against all perceived liberal democrats - a la Rwanda? I know lots of people both conservative and liberal and I do think some of them would be willing to kill the opposite side if we were truly in a civil war.

Yes, I do. I don't think it's most, but enough MAGA people seem itching for a fight that I've gone out and gotten a gun and learned to shoot it. I'm not interested in being a sitting duck should the time come because I stupidly took the stance of "it could never happen here." No, it absolutely could happen here, just as it has happened elsewhere throughout history.

Since Trump constantly talks or tweets about “radical left-wing lunatics” who “want to destroy this country,” he is practically putting a bullseye on Democrats. He also bad mouths Blue states constantly, further adding fuel to the fire. I mean, it’s not Rwanda yet, but he is constantly and actively stoking hatred for non-Maga in his followers in a way that exacerbates political tensions. Who knows what will happen with another 3 1/2 years of this. He never shuts up.

I think you're propagandizing yourself by focusing only on right wing violence. Try to focus on facts.

Both right wing and left wing criminals have committed acts of violence in recent times and throughout American history. Both left wing and right wing politicians and pundits have advocated violence openly and with dog whistles.

The current LA riots are a good example. Despite the "peaceful protest" narrative, we can see our own eyes people being extremely violent and committing arson. Before you waste time defending left wing violence as moral or somehow less violent because you agree with the actors' politics, understand what you are tacitly supporting. People whose position on violence is highly flexible due to partisanship stand for the idea that people get to be violent if they believe strongly in their cause or believe the other side deserves it. The problem is that EVERY violent movement in history and every side in a war, civil or otherwise, has believed the other side deserving and their cause just.

If you want to minimize the likelihood of running terrified while your former neighbors and countrymen hunt you down, stand vocally and unequivocally with zero exceptions for the conviction that violence is a completely unacceptable way to handle disagreements of any sort. Every time people pretend not to see violence when their chosen side is perpetrating it, they legitimize it as a fair response to themselves.

My husband is a super liberal democrat but he too is afraid to be in this country where everyone carries a gun except for him. He went out and got a shot gun and two rifles. My brother in law has an AR-15, a shot gun and multiple hand guns.

Why does everyone seem to think there would only be killing by MAGAs? I know plenty of Progressives who would be willing to do some killing. They’re not going to start the war, but once it’s started, they’re all-in.

These people are serious, too. They know Carlos hand to hand fighting disciplines and martial arts, they are experts with knives and edged weapons, they can improvise booby traps. They’d be able to take out MAGAs like they were squishing bugs.
