Why do so many Americans condone murder?

Why did so many Americans support the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Just because you disagree with his policies, doesn't mean it was right to murder him. Would you support murdering a politician because you don't agree with the laws they pass? Of course not. How is the murder of the CEO any different?

UHC makes decisions that lead to the deaths of thousands of people per year. They made these decisions to save money.

I don’t think murder is the right response, but I at least understand why people feel that way.

There is a big delta for actively rooting for someone to be murdered and going “he had it coming” if someone got murdered. It’s the latter attitude that’s prevalent - same as it is when some gang member dies in a shoot out -a feeling of no loss and no surprise.

Why do the hospitals charge so much? Insurers are the only ones pushing back against that. Do you really think it should cost $5K to get treatment for a broken leg in the ER? People just want their insurance to pay whatever the hospital asks because they feel like it’s not their money, except it is. It’s all of our money.

I once took my two kids in for a routine checkup. Somebody at the pediatrician's office checked the wrong box and I got a bill for over a thousand dollars. What sort of system have we built where preventative medicine that can head off much more significant problems down the road costs so much?

The profit motive needs to be removed from healthcare. I'm not saying physicians and specialists shouldn't be paid a good salary - they should, but not millions and there should absolutely NOT be any "healthcare CEOs" making millions whatsoever.

this. also I know a lot of good "catholics" who are vehemently pro birth but believe in the death penalty....? And yes I said pro birth because we all know no one cares about the mother and child after birth.

Define necessary care and the costs of said “necessary care.”

Then prove someone died directly because of not getting paid for “necessary care” and at what total cost of care for how many years.
