| Was wondering if anyone had insight into Wall Street job placement after graduating NESCAC (particularly Midd or Bowdoin). These schools are loaded with 1% families so I would think these kids are getting those top jobs through family connections and would have probably secured those jobs regardless of attending those schools. Those that are not 1 % will struggle. |
| Middlebury College , Williams College, and Amherst College place well on Wall Street. |
|
If you would like to consider NESCACs by the general characteristic of career outcomes, Middlebury, for example, placed 124th nationally by this measure in this analysis:

| Bucknell clears all of the NESCAC except W and A. Don't fret that it's not quite as selective as some of the others and the test score ranges are a little lower. It's all about the network and alumni representation in high places on The Street. Bison hire Bison. |
| Lehigh finance places better than Bucknell. |
| It seems like most who place into finance are athletes, specifically lacrosse and football players. This may be because there’s some internal network, but I also think it’s because they are the only ones who want to go into finance. At DDs NESCAC, most non athletes want to go to grad school or some non profit role. |
You wish. |
But no pipeline. |
That’s funny |
Middlebury has so many women on Wall Street that they have their own club. I am sure that the same applies to Williams and Amherst. They are mostly athletes. |
| These "women on Wall Street" club served a purpose in 1984. Now they are really not cool. Perhaps for sales and trading where women are still fairly under-represented. But otherwise they are like DEI on steroids. I am supportive of some forms of diversity but this is overkill. |
So it's all fixed now? https://www.forbes.com/sites/josiecox/2021/05/27/the-face-of-wall-street-is-changing-but-gender-inequality-runs-deep/ |
Nope. Far from it. But these "women on Wall Street" groups are often counter-productive. I have been to some events and half the time it is tone deaf managing directors talking about how they have a fleet of nannies to take care of their kids, and how they don't even like their kids. Truly inspiring. |
This only refers to janitorial positions. Otherwise, Middlebury and the other NESCAC schools far surpass Bucknell in Wall Street professional level job placement. |
| Bowdoin students love the back office, it's very embarrassing how poor the outcomes are compared to W A. This shows in the international prestige of Amherst! |
