FCPS Teachers Union

Looks like our so called union is a big fail for teachers. Our Superintendent owns the union and she tells them what to do.

What makes you say that?

There is no union

Hilarious. They got everything they asked for in their first contract, with the exception of 1% of the salary increase. You’re a clown

There is absolutely a union. How are you people posting when you’re this uninformed?

They got the 6% raise but allowed a 5% raise for non union employees at the expense of school-based positions and support. A real fail for FEU.

This came at a price. There are currently hundreds of school-based instructional positions being cut to balance the budget. Destaff letters are still being sent out. Not sure I would call this a win.

There are two unions in FCPS. AFT and FEA.

I’m so mad I’ve been paying dues for 15 years. They are so unhelpful and I’m not sure the people who even answer calls knows anything about FCPS.

Teacher's unions have got to decide what their primary mission is.

Is it to protect the rights and professional independence of teachers or is it to support DEI.

Look at how much time and effort is being used to promote and protect costly DEI admin positions while they watch instructional positions shrink

Genuine question here. What is are FEA and/or FCFT doing to protect those positions?

They could demand that the administration trim the budget at HQ. Instead, they support boundary changes, etc.
