Owala water bottles

Anonymous
We are thinking of getting this bottle but I read some have said the rubber gets moldy while others do not have this problem. But some on those forums dont wash their their kids bottles daily. Eeew. Yuck!

So Any parents here have used owalas daily and washes them daily? Any mold on them?

Also, seems like the spout is also hard and there is no straw really so not so chewable by a nervous tween? Does it sip well? We are just so tired of replacing her hydroflask spout because my daughter keeps chewing on the straw. She unfortunately does need a strawish bottle else she doesn’t drink much water. Stanley’s are out for sure. She is 11.

We each have one. Just make sure you pull out the rubber thing when you stick the bottle on the dishwasher and wash it separately

We have one and handwash daily. Haven’t seen any mold yet. They got them for Christmas. Both son and daughter love it. They like sipping out of the straw.

Maybe work on why your daughter feels a need to chew on a straw.

I never wash my kids Owala and have seen no mold. Only water in it.

You want to pump your kid full of microplastics?

Mold is the least of your problems, people.

+1. This is why I pump my water from my own well into my wooden bucket (therefore bypassing all the plastic pipes in my home). We also drink milk directly from the cow's teats.

I use mine daily, and either hand wash daily or put the top in the dishwasher weekly. No issues at all.

We have every brand there is and none have had a mold problem.

OP here. Thank you all for the comments. Will put an order in to try one. If it lasts, I might get one for myself too. Looks like a good concept. It looks pretty “wide” so I think it may not fit car cup holders I reckon.
