Achilles has a U14 game on the schedule. How does MLSN cup work? (I am only familiar with girls ECNL playoffs. Is this the equivalent?)

This is the first year that the U13 and U14 teams are playing in the MLS Next Cup. Teams were selected based on their Quality of Play (QoP) rankings, not on their win/loss record. QoP is a new score created and calculated by MLS Next. So the Achilles U13 team played 32 games this season -- 3 wins, 1 tie, 28 losses. But their QoP ranking -- which was obviously better than their win/loss record -- got them a spot in the Premier level (2nd tier) of the MLS Next Cup. Who knows if the QoP rankings are valid?

Achilles will likely lose all their games. But with great quality.

MLS seems to think so.

I wonder if we can apply QoP to sour grapes? We’ll call it Quality of Grapes (QoG) and measure micro tantrums.

Its not the top QoP rankings
The top 4 mid-atlantic u14 teams aren't going

Yeah quality of play is not going to make Achilles look better when they lose every game. A 28 loss record is atrocious. Achilles and their players simply do not belong in MLS Next.
