Quiet suburb. Man down the street apparently has multiple high-def cameras on his property. He publicly posted vids and stills of a very specific loose dog -- I'm not great with dog names but it's clearly a pure-bred bird dog of some sort -- coming onto his front lawn in the morning, pooping, and then running away. Almost as if someone trained the dog to do this or lets it out to go do its business and its smart enough to run back home.
The guy asked whose the owner of the dog and sarcastically asked if they plan to come retrieve its four pounds poop he's had to collect thus far (lol). Instead of everyone siding with the homeowner, half of the responses called him out of line and said it's only dog poop! Wtf? |
Those aren't neighbors responding. It's the dog owner sock puppeting. |
[some] Dogs owners are the worst. That's it. |
Facebook group, not next door. Maybe not neighbors but everyone responding is a resident of the same upper middle class burb. |
Shoot the dog |
Genius. |
Many of the comments sarcastically asked if he cares when birds, squirrels and deer poop in his yard too. Just beyond rude. Under their own names. |
The dog may not have been trained. Dogs like to poop where they’ve previously pooped, so the dog may have trained itself.
In his shoes, I’d find out who the owner is. Then I’d scoop the poop and fling it onto their doorstep. I’d do this as many times as it took. I’d also look into any ordinance requiring owners to clean up their dog’s poop. This is rude nonsense. |
I’m surprised at the responses on the FB post. My neighborhood would be up in arms if this was posted- but against the dog owner! |
He should go outside when the dog is there and follow it home. Or, go outside when the dog is there, bring it into his house, and call animal control that a stray dog was found on his lawn. |
Wow, you're not living in a mannerly neighborhood. We all have dogs in our street, and when the neighbor's large puppy got loose and pooped in my yard, I called the owner to come pick it up, and she did.

This. |
If no collar and tags get animal control. |
I’m a dog owner and dog lover and this blows my mind. Who doesn’t pick up their dog’s poop? That’s insanely rude. If someone told me my kids were letting the dog out to poop and not picking it up, I would: 1) apologize profusely; 2) send them a gift card or a basket or something or edible arrangements; 3) lpromptly pick up anything there; and 4) inform them that my children have been disciplined for this and if it happens again to please let me know immediately so I can take further appropriate remedial action.
Generally I think people posting on neighborhood SM are nuts and usually should just get over themselves and live and let live….but I would be totally mortified if this was my dog. (Although a better way to deal with it might have been to just google image the breed and then post something “can someone tell me who owns the weimeraner that I see on oak street in the morning?” |
Unclear if homeowner is home when this is happening. I think he's sort of elderly too. |
