Same time with the boundary studies? |
I don’t think anybody knows. They want the *studies* done concurrently so that the program study can inform the boundary study. But they haven’t said anything about when the new model will take effect. |
The website says MCPS begins secondary plan implementation in January 2026. |
That's probably when applications will open for Fall of 2026 programming (which won't be staffed or completed by the time you have to apply, because that's how MCPS rolls) |
Program study is supposed to be completed before the Boundary study. In fact at the end of June the Program Study is supposed to have what the new/revised programs will be. Whether they will have real data supporting this and actually be completed before is a different question all together because I haven’t been impressed with what they presented thus far. |
Yes, but that’s very vague. Implementation can mean a lot of things — starting to develop the curriculum for the programs, purchasing equipment, training teachers. All of these can take months, even years. It really doesn’t say much about when the programs will actually start. |
They probably don't know yet. |
They don’t know yet because a plan has not been agreed on to implement. They are still gathering input and are supposed to present a proposal at the June board meeting. |
It may be a while for Woodward as they have to open up Northwood. |
You know what will hit the fan when the current 4th graders move from 6th to 7th grade at the earliest. This assumes Northwood construction is on schedule. |
Te majority of the students in PHS are from specialized programs. Facility utilization.cannot be estimated without the HS programs finalized.
|
The won’t all be new programs from scratch. Some will likely be implementing an existing program in a new location or hopefully leveling out similar programs to have comparable expectations and resources. |
Yes. That's why the initial options aren't worth much. |
Is this study going to decide whether the DCC and NEC continue? Or will the boundary study do that? It is very confusing. |
The program analysis is supposed to address the future of the consortia programs, whether they turn them each into regions, or whatever else they're planning. |
