We are thinking of Amsterdam - is 6 days too long? A day trip or two is possible, but we want to stay in one hotel the entire time. Where else would you go? Heat is an issue, so we do not want to go to southern Europe. All ideas welcome! |
Copenhagen. You can pop over to Sweden. No need to change hotels. |
If you like museums 6 days is not too long in Amsterdam. There or Copenhagen. |
Amsterdam is perfect. Day trip to Haarlem. Day trip to windmills - long bike rides etc. |
Oslo. Fantastic in the summer |
What would you do for a week in Oslo? |
Most people use Oslo as a jumping point to fjords, Bergen, etc. But 6 days is hot enough time. |
Too hot in summer and very over-touristed. Lovely city otherwise though. |
It’s a shame to go to Amsterdam at a time when you will miss the tulips in the Spring. |
Paris - 4 days in Paris, a day trip to Versailles, a guided day trip to Mont Saint.Michel
Colmar, Strasbourg and Eguisheim with base in Colmar. Basel if you have time. Tuscany, Italy - you can visit Bologna, Modena, Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra, Pisa - base in Florence |
While these are all great suggestions, the last one in particular is likely to be HOT, which OP said she didn't want. I agree with the Copenhagen suggestion- there is so much to do and daytrip options as well. |
6 days is not enough time to properly enjoy a vacation. |
Paris is also hot. It’s in the 80s already, July will be miserable. |
+1. |
