Is there one? Is it in the lottery and/or is it slightly easier to get in if a sibling goes there? |
No preference.
I suppose it might be easier just because you've done it before and the sibling would be more familiar with the school so better able to write application materials and be confident in the interview. |
No |
Are they anti-sibling or just neutral?
(For all the families I kniw who have had children go through Walls, it's only been 1 child, never siblings.) |
Not pro or anti. Sibling preference just isn't a factor at all. |
Definitely not anti -- I know a family who got both kids in. |
No preference / neutral. Separate applications for each child. |
As others have said, there is no preference but I know multiple families with 2 kids going through Walls. |
And I know many others where sibling did not get in. Same crap shoot as it is for everyone now. |
This. It is a selective school, not a charter or other lottery school that gives preference. I think more than one kid from a family getting accepted is nothing more than luck. |
What about twins? Both in or out? One in one out? |
No preference. Twins are considered completely separate. |
The best is when your twins apply and you get a "congratulations, your child has been selected for an interview" email and a "we're sorry, your child was not selected for an interview" email and neither email includes the kid's name. |
Honestly, that’s just a preview of the level of communication/transparency you’ll receive at Walls for the next four years. They may as well introduce you to the “Walls Way” now. |
Come on! This is not Walls specific. With two kids in two different grades in the same DCPS school, I often receive general communication from the teacher without referencing nor specifying the class/grade/issues they are talking about. And I often wouldn’t know which child the message relates to.
Pls stop these blanket attacks on Walls. |
