I’m new to the soccer world, but is the goalie allowed to take home the trophy that was given to the team? Does everyone get to bring it home?

..usually it just disappears. No idea who gets it.

If the game was won via PK's, that goalie should take it home, lol.

Funny thing those big trophy's... I wish the club's would just take them. But we had a Coach who used it to motivate his players. Each week, he would identify the hardest working player and have them take home the trophy(ies) for the week. It motivated the kids to work hard and he made a small recognition ceremony out of it each week. As the year went on, more trophies were added and more kids got to take them home for the week. Then the process started over in the fall time.

The team won by scoring regular goals, no PKs needed.… Favoritism perhaps?

Interesting 🤔

what age is this? if it is over u12, nobody should care.

I would say this is abnormal. In the last 6 years of tournaments, the coach/club always kept the trophy.

Our group is under the age of 12...

When the team won trophy, each player got to take it home until the next time they met. It was passed along until all had a turn with it.

We always give the trophy to the coach so the club keeps it. I didn’t realize that sometimes a player kept it instead…huh.

Our coach had it passed around to go home with each player for a week. I think on the DL the last player (randomly selected, not my kid) was given the green light by the coach to keep it each time. But that was not the official story -- most thought the coach/club ended up with it.

Never seen a player get it in many years of this. Our club keeps all of them- puts them in the office.

sounds like a salty parent post

Sounds like reading comprehension isn’t your thing, huh? I would break it down further for you, but chances are you still wouldn’t get it.

Our team has a parent took the trophy home without asking anyone, and now it’s happened with another trophy as well. It seems like the coach isn’t addressing the situation, and some parents are just keeping the trophies for themselves without any discussion. This feels weird to the team.

OP- what age? DS's u little coach used to let the kids take it home in shifts. Now at the older ages nobody ever wants to have to take it.
