inappropriate ads

On this thread about the hopelessness struggle of long term infertility, the pop up ads were for maternity clothes, at least on my computer.

It looks like Loft Maternity has done a major ad buy on our website. Those ads are showing up everywhere. Generally, I am happy to have those advertisements, but I can see how they are inappropriate for the TTC forum. Unfortunately, I have no control over where they appear. That's completely controlled by Google.

Jeff, I am not the OP, nor have a struggled with infertility, but I am disappointed with your response. Might you express a bit of sympathy? Perhaps -s uggest turning off images (if they are image ads). Other fixes (not sure what but maybe there are)? It's not that they're inappropriate for TTC, it's that they're hurtful to people struggling with long-term infertility.

Well, to OP and PP. I have to agree with Jeff's response on this one...This is a site for Mom and Dads. It isn't reasonable to shield some people from this when so many benefit from it or are not offended by it in the least. Also, running a website is expensive and time consuming and people do need renumeration for their considerable efforts. Perhaps you OP, could adjust your preferences to disable all ads? and cookies? Your computer may run slower, but that would be a more reasonable fix.

PP here. Was just suggesting that Jeff be a bit sympathetic and offer a suggestion if possible, as both you and I have done.
