This is just one of many actions Trump has taken to allow scams, dangerous shortcuts for profit, and corruption to run rampant. Why does MAGA like this? Why are they so masochistic?

Because they are stupid and mean. There's really no deep mystery to why they are like this. Everyone wants there to be some new and enlightening answer to this question.

They are like this because they are uninformed, uncurious, and anti-intellectual. They believe it won't affect them, only people who "deserve" it, using whatever sexist, classist, racist, ableist reason they've come up with to justify excusing harm done to others. When it inevitably does affect them, they'll blame whoever they've been given to blame because otherwise the cognitive dissonance would break their little pea brains.
