Virginia Valor FC 2025-2026

We’re considering joining Valor FC and are looking to enroll our two children. I’ve heard mixed reviews, so I’m hoping to get some insight—does anyone have any feedback, positive or negative, on the U10 and U12 boys' coaches? Also, do returning players tend to receive preferential placement? Is this club up to par with other teams in the area with training etc?

Oh my sweet summer child.

So you have a 2016 and 2014 boy who have been offered spots on Valor travel teams for this coming fall?

Which specific teams?

OP, there's a 300 page thread of parent complaints on this club. Seems smart to avoid.

What team were your kids offered? Tryouts are over.

To be fair, they are still scrambling to fill teams and I'm sure they would take these people's money. But tryouts are officially over.

Ain't nothing mixed about reviews as far as that club. There's 200 pages of parents complaining, a few that are happy that they're paying for their kids to get smoked every weekend but they're having "fun" lol. Reviews on this site about clubs is like the review section on Amazon, find the consistencies and carefully read the ones that seem too good to be true. Instead of paying for positive reviews on Amazon, on here you'll figure out it's club officials or coaches that are posting the too good to be true ones.

There are obviously more disgruntled critics than happy families on this site. Typically, the angry folks are louder so it may appear there are more problems than there actually are. I've posted several challenges to those who post gripes, and for that I got accused of being staff.

I can't speak for the coaches because I can only speak for my children's coaches. I can tell you that the problems at this club are basically the same as any other club. I will say Valor made the bizarre move of announcing that they are hiring new coaches in the middle of tryouts as well as only publicizing "lead coaches" of each age group. Not a good look indeed.

I would go out for an ID practice at least twice and get a feel for the kids and coach and see what you personally think. I personally wouldn't recommend them but they'd definitely make a team and isn't the worst club for entry into travel soccer.

What teams/coaches are you asking about specifically? One good thing about this site is someone always has the intel.

How many other clubs have your kids played for? Valor seems uniquely disfunctional.

Lol.. Valor is basically a rec program with travel fees.. Its a good starting point to try out travel, but dont expect development or alot of wins.

Its really not a good starting point. They way overcharge at the younger ages and the kids don't learn.

Hard pass.
