Because the affidavit is what’s important. And the DOJ were the ones to initiate a raid on a former President’s home so they are the ones that must justify their actions to the American people.

You act like Trump just one-upped them. You are silly. They want to unseal the motion and index. They asked a judge to do so. They need his consent to make that ask. The fact that they asked the judge first makes clear they don’t care what his position is, they want the judge to unseal.
