2025 Immersion Waitlist

Starting a new thread for this instead of burying it in old posts….

Helpful if people can share what numbers got in (and when) in recent years. I’m particularly wondering what to think for a number like 30.

Not good

OP, are you asking for K? And which program? Likelihood to get in will depend on grade and program. You can also call the immersion office to get historical info.

RCF, burnt mills and page got past 30s. Some went in after school started.

How quickly does it move?

End if May- end of June, most schools probably get through to the teens off the waitlist. Then everything stalls in July-Mid August. Then the waitlist moves quickly mid August and kids can get off the waitlist up until December or January I think!

You can email the person who sent you the email and ask about the waitlist and where your child stands through out the summer.

Out of curiosity can they complete enrollment fast enough for you to accept an offer an attend the next day like this? Or is this a process that would have disrupted your first week (in addition to the change of expected schools)?

From not being in the system to starting school, I was able to do it in 3 business days. So, as long as you're responsive and submit all necessary paperwork when request correctly the turnaround is very quick.

We got called the second day, accepted, went to the immersion program the next day.

When will they start calling up the first waitlist numbers, typically?

Those who have been invited have until this Friday to decide, so probably not until next week?

Anyone get any movement yet?
