Trying not to overreact but have had a headaches for 4 days now and typically don’t have them,39F. Not near my cycle so doubt it’s hormone related. Started off as a one sided throbbing headache and has been lingering on/off (less severe) for a few days now. Went to doc and prescribed a steroid which I began this morning. My left leg has some tingling so I’m thinking a pinched nerve but I am not sure what next steps should be. Give the steroids a few days to kick in? |
Did you mention the tingling in your leg to your doctor?
If it’s new, does your doctor or insurance have an after hours phone line that you could call and ask? Did your doctor say how long the steroids should take to help your headache? |
Migraines can cause tingling in the extremities. |
A steroid for a headache? |
You actually went to the doctor and got a steroid for a headache?
You’re a troll, right? |
you might be dead in a few days.
go to the ER. |
+1 What in the world? |
Steroids are commonly given for migraines and headaches that will not break. My neurologist and primary care have both done it. Every neurologist I've seen says go to the ER if its something new to you and not normal. |
Test for Covid. My friend has Covid right and how and has had a headache for over a week that hasn’t budged with normal meds. |
I had a headache for a few weeks after I strained my neck; I no longer had neck pain, only tightness but the headache lingered, off and on. Is your neck strained or tight?
It does seem odd that you were prescribed steroids for a headache that is mostly notable for the fact that you don’t usually get them, rather than severity. |
DP I have been prescribed steroids before. I thought I had a sinus infection but ENT said tension headache.
I have also been battling the throbbing headache these last three days and debating if sinus, tension or migraine. I knocked it off for several hours with a generic excedrin but started again after 6 hours. |
If OTC pain killers plus steroids aren’t helping your headache, it’s lasted for many days PLUS tingling, I’d go to the hospital. |
You ok, OP? |
Leg pain and headache = ER |
PP here and somehow I missed the leg tingling and the fact that the steroids didn’t work. Are they usually effective with migraines?
OP, did you go back to the doc? Hope you are feeling better, |
