I have Allsaints sandals like these: https://www.bloomingdales.com/shop/product/allsaints-womens-ellie-studded-slide-sandals?ID=5421811&pla_country=US&cm_mmc=Google-PLA-ADC-_-Pmax+-+GMM2+-+Center+Core+-+Shoes-_-5063320406025USA-_-go_cmp-19967920207_adg-_ad-__dev-m_ext-_prd-5063320406025USA_sig-Cj0KCQjwxJvBBhDuARIsAGUgNfh7dBqfyypkzG0rJCyNfvV2iOOOKIv8vlRbcp9vHBaH9vWZUyD6GZ0aAi_1EALw_wcB&gad_source=4&gad_campaignid=19967932984&gbraid=0AAAAAD0PCJRFzKHgT6_PLbcMSjPxbbcFk&gclid=Cj0KCQjwxJvBBhDuARIsAGUgNfh7dBqfyypkzG0rJCyNfvV2iOOOKIv8vlRbcp9vHBaH9vWZUyD6GZ0aAi_1EALw_wcB
They are super cute and comfortable for the summer, but they make an awful thwap-thwap sound when I walk and the soles hit my feet (like flip-flops). They are the correct fit, just noisy. How do I remedy this? |
| Embrace it. I've always wondered if mules derived their name from the clomping sound they tend to make. |
| Sounds like these shoes dont fit you correctly |
| You bought them too big. That shouldn't be happening. |
| This is why I like sandals with straps. You can' avoid it |
| If you really like the shoes, you can ask a cobbler to add a softer material to the heel to dampen the noise. I return any shoes that make a thwacking sound now. |
| ^sorry, I didn't check the photo beforehand. Perhaps not with that type of sandal. |
|
They’re prob too big. |
| Wear those adidas ones with the little pegs we used to wear after soccer. The little pegs dull the noise I think. |
| It can't be fixed, that's why I don't wear those styles of shoes. |
| The flippy noise makes me crazy. I think the noise is due to where the strap is placed on the shoe, not the size. I avoid this type at all costs. |
+1 |
| Get some heel liners or tape or felt and insert into the top in the area where they are a bit loose. Or order 1/2 size smaller and gently stretch them to fit you better. They have to be loose to be doing that. |
| You’re lucky it’s just a flapping sound. I’ve had them “fart” when air gets trapped under the arch and then gets released. |
Yes! I get this from my beloved Birkenstocks. |
