How do you avoid the ugly sandal noise?

Embrace it. I've always wondered if mules derived their name from the clomping sound they tend to make.

Sounds like these shoes dont fit you correctly

You bought them too big. That shouldn't be happening.

This is why I like sandals with straps. You can' avoid it

If you really like the shoes, you can ask a cobbler to add a softer material to the heel to dampen the noise. I return any shoes that make a thwacking sound now.

^sorry, I didn't check the photo beforehand. Perhaps not with that type of sandal.

They’re prob too big.

Wear those adidas ones with the little pegs we used to wear after soccer. The little pegs dull the noise I think.

It can't be fixed, that's why I don't wear those styles of shoes.

The flippy noise makes me crazy. I think the noise is due to where the strap is placed on the shoe, not the size. I avoid this type at all costs.

Get some heel liners or tape or felt and insert into the top in the area where they are a bit loose. Or order 1/2 size smaller and gently stretch them to fit you better. They have to be loose to be doing that.

You’re lucky it’s just a flapping sound. I’ve had them “fart” when air gets trapped under the arch and then gets released.

Yes! I get this from my beloved Birkenstocks.
