| At fairly rigorous/prestigious private school but the SAT isn’t working out. Any suggestions? What schools realistically accept TO kids for RD? |
|
Apply early. That’s a requirement.
Vanderbilt; WashU; UChicago My kid got into one of these from private HS. Similar gpa. |
| Those are TO schools. Don’t submit that score. |
| You're not giving a lot of context to help with suggestions. Do they want a big school? Small? Location? Specific majors? |
Right now thinking Chicago ED1. This was always one of dc’s top choices. Also likes Penn, Michigan and Georgetown. Obviously very unlikely now. |
Visit WashU this summer and again in the fall for ED2. I know a lot who have success TO in ED2 as well from privates nationwide. But you must show regular interest (not a one-time visit). |
| U Chicago very unlikely |
Depends on your HS and your major. At our private, this is very likely. |
I'd skip Penn and Georgetown bc of test scores. What is the major? |
| UGA |

Intended major ?
SAT score breakdown of math versus English. |

Classical studies
670 E 730 M Will definitely visit Wash U for ED2 possibility. DC had a prospective student zoom call w a current student and really liked it. |
| Any interest in LACs? Intended major? |
Great major. Assume ECs and awards match major? WashU has something in the fall where you do a fly-in and sit on a class. I'd definitely do that too - even if applying ED2. Be prepared for the UChicago deferral. |
