So much DOGE efficiency in action. How many lives are they putting at extreme risk every single day? What's the goal here, to crash planes on purpose in order to have good reasons for why AI and Starlink should be used to take over aviation safety? How can the govt possibly allow planes to keep flying to EWR when they only have roughly 1/5th the target staff levels? The military should be brought in to assist with air traffic control at this point. This is insane. |

Yes but it was unusual to have only 1 ATC while air traffic was still heavy. Supervisor should have said no, employee shouldn't have asked. Then and going forward. |

I seriously doubt they left without taking sick leave. ATC isn't McDonald's where you just click out and go home if your supervisor says ok. These people are working a highly stressful job while dealing with DOGE threats to cut their job. You think they are going to be laser focused on their job with that going on? |
