What is the average weekly food bill for a married family with 2 to 4 kids?
We spend about $150 a week on meal deliveries and another $300 or so on groceries. Plus probably $150 on restaurants and takeout in an average week. Yeah it’s a lot. Family of 4.
With all the uncertainty with RIFS and DoGE we’ve cut ours form about $350 per well to around $225. Buying a lot in bulk and freezing, no more organic meat, and limiting other expensive items. Some weeks were under $200 if we have a lot in the freezer
$300 a week - I have a strict budget. I do spend on higher quality proteins and meal plan to get the most out of my ingredients. By the end of the week kids are scrounging for “good” food and snacks.
$300-350 per week. We buy nice ingredients but I meal-plan and shop from a list. I also go alone to the grocery store to cut down on impulse purchases.
$650 week
Around $200 a week or less. I’m not buying organic because it’s too expensive.
About $350 a week. Two teenage boys. Does not include dining out or ordering in, which we do not do very often. Maybe twice a month.
$300 a week. One teen.
We go to wegmans once a week. Family of five, around $500.
|
Dang. I’m single/widowed. I’m rarely under $150/week. So that’s $600+ per month for one and I am over that goal most of the time!
Do you add in your Nespresso deliveries? Does your grocery bill include paper products and cleaning products? Shampoo other bathroom items? Vitamins? |
Struggling to keep it under $175 a week for one adult and one kid. We do eat different thing though. $350 easily a week if there were 4 of us.
$500/week on groceries for a family of five.
A lot with old teens, at least 350 but we don’t eat out.
Single parent with 2 teens boys, very frugal but still $200 per week.
