I recently relocated to NOVA for work and I am just now getting situated in the area.
I have always coached swimming on the side and was getting the itch to maybe get back into it. I work a typical 9-5 job in Tysons and live in Annandale I would appreciate any info on teams practice schedules, pool usage, programs hiring. Open to summer league, Club/USA, hs. I have 20 years experience including 15 as head coach of a high school and a 150+ rec team including being USA swim certified. I have done it all and knowledgeable in all aspects of coachin and running a team-- including but not limited to dry side of TM and MM and swimtopia, etc. TIA. |

Okay and? Plenty of teams practice from 4:30-6:30am so why in the world would OP go all the way to Tysons to coach, then drive all the way home to Annandale (because work doesn’t start until 9), then finally go all the back to Tyson’s???? |

York is recruiting for coaches- and they swim at Renaissance Pool, which is extremely convenient to Tysons, and Yorktown and Oak Marr- neither of which is far from Tysons. https://www.gomotionapp.com/team/pvsyork/page/about-york-swim-club/practice-sites
I would reach out to Bob if you are interested. York is a great team. I think it would be extremely difficult to coach summer league while working 9-5. They tend to practice 7-11 daily, and have Monday meets starting at 4:30 etc. I'm sure there are many HS teams looking for coaches. |

Stop derailing the thread with your stupid pissing contest over coaching positions in Tysons v Annandale 🙄 Welcome to DCUM and DC OP, where people love to argue over the stupidest sh!t. As you can see from the helpful responses, the DMV and NoVa are saturated with swim clubs and summer swim teams. There definitely should be a spot for an experienced coach somewhere! |

| York for sure, especially if you’re in Tyson’s. As a PP mentioned, Renaissance is in Tyson’s. They also have locations in Oakton, Reston and Arlington. |

| Summer league assistant you are looking at $3000 to $5000. You have great experience. Teams would hire you with 1/100 of that experience. You will be in demand. |

I’ll take a look at all the info posted One question I do have. I came from an area where cities/villages had public pools and most summer teams swam/competed out of those pools. I was shocked to see all the small outdoor pools littered throughout Annandale. Most with teams as well. Can anyone shed light on this? Why/how this came about? |
