The partisan primary for a non-partisan elected position is literally the most un-democratic setup I've ever seen. I'm a democrat, but come on:
There is no way I'm providing my name, phone number, and contact info and letting it be tied to how I vote. There are no safeguards for privacy or what they can do with the data, or policies around data retention, access by third parties, etc. Voter privacy is literally a bedrock of all other elections in this country - do I have to explain this one?
Apparently if they don't get the outcome they want, they can just change the rules by extending the deadline for online voting. Who's to say they'll keep extending the deadline, even past in-person voting, and then cut it off when they get the outcome they want? I mean what are rules, anyway, except impediments to get what you want?
Oh, but there's in-person voting, so that totally makes up for the online stuff. Yeah, one voting location on a single day is totally comparable /s. Again, literally the opposite of the multiple days and multiple locations any actual election provides.
No outreach at all. How aware is the population that a primary is even happening? Not very.
