| For recreational level, what have your kids tried in elementary school for boys or girls? I know every kid is different, but I just want to use it as a reference. I have a son who is active, and he is hesitating to try a new activity for recreational level. I have a girl who is not that active and I want her to try something to move around. For my girl, she is scared to get hurt and she is scared of bugs. We are in Montgomery county. |

| Between my three kids, in elementary school they tried: soccer, flag football, baseball, softball, basketball, martial arts, dance, gymnastics, summer swim, tennis lessons, mini triathalon club. I think that is everything. |

I think new sports are best tried with friends. My DD tried lacrosse and volleyball because friends were doing them. Given your DD's parameters, volleyball may actually be good because it's indoors. What sports has your son tried? Again, find a friend but you could try flag football/ultimate frisbee, which are active but not the usual soccer/baseball. |

| In addition to sports already mentioned, my kids have also participated in rec cross country and rec track and field. The younger kid originally signed up because they were already going to be there with their older sib. Did not enjoy it. Was not signed up for the next 2 years. Then decided to participate this year and is enjoying it. So this is my plug for being open to going back to activities they’ve tried before. |
