Backed into garage too fast; shattered passenger side mirror

Anonymous
Currently kicking myself. While the mirror frame didn't come off, I completely shattered the glass. How much should this cost to repair, and how long will I be without my car? Acura MDX, btw

Shouldn't you be asking the dealer this?

Go to one of those auto zone stores and get a replacement

$800 plus install.

And you're a bloody idiot for backing into your garage.

If you can find out the exact part, you can order it online. We've replaced a side mirrors on 2 different cars, a Camry and a Mazda CX-9. Took about 15 minutes to do -- we needed to buy a long rachet tool that was maybe $25 from home depot.

All this backing into places is ridiculous.

Why? It is easier to back into a tight space than go straight in. You can use side mirrors to gauge how close you are to walls

I have a PITA one-car garage. Also, it's either back in or out, so what is the difference?

I looked up the replacement on Auto Zone's website, and it's only $29. I wonder if there's any chance they can insert it for me...

You hurt my feelings. I'm already down; why kick me?

Nope. I'm gutted for backing into my own house.

Or, and hear me out, you can just use your eyes to go straight in. No mirrors necessary.
