| 40s female, traveling with kids on a long haul flight. What should I wear?! Weather will be hot at departure and arrival. I want to be as comfortable as possible but also not look like a sack of potatoes! |
| Your best option is to wear joggers and a t-shirt and some zip up sweatshirt over that. Just make it a fancy-ish brand like Varley. |
| I prefer a sleeveless cotton midi or maxi dress with a fleece jacket. No waistband and I stay covered when lifting something overhead or bending over. |
| Nap dresses are made for this. Wear with a cardigan and slip on sneakers. |
|
Short sleeve or sleeveless midi dress and merino wool leggings + socks, a merino wool cardigan, take off the leggings and cardigan when you land. Sandals for the plane with straps that can be loosened.
|
| I'll be wearing leggings that are moisture wicking (arriving in a hot location), t shirt, and a cardigan. I will look like a sack of fat potatoes because I'm fat and very ugly, but I also will never see these people again and will be in first class so I don't care. |
| Planes tend to be cold, and you can change on either end at the airport. But I typically wear yoga pants, a t-shirt, and a comfy sweatshirt, all in black so it looks relatively pulled together. Fuzzy slipper socks to change into (and use the slippers they provide in the amenity kit when going to the bathroom), and a soft wireless bra (need to be comfy when sleeping). |
Oh, and I typically wear a cute blazer or denim jacket with a scarf to feel more pulled together in the lounge and then change into my cozy sweatshirt after boarding. |
This. There is no way I'd wear a dress on a long haul flight. |
| Coordinated sweats/exercise clothes. If for some reason you don’t want to wear them in the airport, put them in your carryon and change right away on the plane. |
I love you. I can’t imagine a place there fashion matters less than a long haul flight with children. |
| I would wear leggings, they could be loose fitting, but definitely you want to be comfortable. And a T-shirt and a sweatshirt over it because flights tend to be cold. I don't see anybody mentioning compression socks. I have medium or light compression socks I got from CVS that I always wear when I fly. And you definitely want comfy shoes. Something you can slip on and off like a pair of UGG slippers. Or just wear some tennis shoes and loosen the shoe laces so you can slip them on and off for comfort. If you're going to a hot place, chances are you'll be going directly into an air-conditioned taxi cab to your hotel so you don't have to worry about being too hot for too long. You can change into your shorts and T-shirts after you get to your hotel room and unpack. |
Yeah I don't get this. I'm going to need to change and at least do minimal washing up after a long flight, why bother dressing up for the plane and the train ride. Just make sure you're clean and don't wear any strong scents. |
| Depends whether you are expected to sleep on this trip. Ear plugs and eye mask. |
This was actually the poster that I meant to love. |
