How long did you stay? What was the restaurant scene like? Thanks. |
There isn’t much there and there is no “scene” of any type. Don’t know what you were expecting. |
Kids are going to camp nearby. We are debating between there, Chestertown and St. Michaels, but don't really want to drive the 90 minutes to St. Michaels. DH and I are just looking at downtown together in a nice spot. There are a number of lodgings choices but I haven't seen much about restaurants. |
There are a couple of cute B&Bs and a couple of crab dock type of restaurants… and that’s it. It’s a cute town, but there is not much to do. You’ll walk the entire thing in 10 minutes - a cafe, some cute artsy shops, some outdoor artist stalls, and nice colonial architecture.
We went on a family trip for a big triathlon they host in the fall once. It was a fun family weekend, but very low key. |
Chestertown has a LOT more going on. Some very good restaurants - The Retriever, Watershed Alley, and The Kitchen at the Imperial, Modern Stone Age Kitchen, Stam’s for ice cream. A nice farmers market on Saturday and some cute shops and art galleries. The Kent County Alliance and the Garfield Theater also have events/shows. |
St. Michael's will be more fun than your other choices. |
There is a nature area, but, if you don't love birds, it isn't interesting. |
Chestertown is low key the most racist town in Md. |
There’s nothing going on in Rock Hall.
Chestertown actually has a cute downtown plus a nice campus. I’d stay there. |
+1. Yes, they have more going on there because of the college. And some really great restaurants. |
Rising Sun says hello…. |
There is literally nothing in Rock Hall. Definitely stay in Chestertown or someone else near by. |

Another town you can walk in 10 minutes, with a few mediocre restaurants and not much else. |
Op here and this is what I'm thinking as well. Plus it's more expensive than other possibilities. |
