Everyday the news coming out of the city of alexandria is getting crazier and crazier. City council and the new mayor are still MIA regarding the increasing crime in the city. Residents need to come together and let the city know these crimes are unacceptable.

I remember years ago when a man was grabbed and murdered in that same area... pulled off his bike IIRC. I must have driven through there 500 times.

Why? Like, seriously - why? That’s weird. I’m not talking about for events, like movies on the lawn or fireworks or a concert or something. I’m talking about picnicking by yourself, apart from anyone, absent an event, at 9:30 at night. Laying down in the grass.

The mt vernon trail area has a lot of wide grassy areas along the river where you can sit with a view of DC. This story is not odd whatsoever, it is not some trail deep in the woods. Your victim blaming here is really bizarre though.

Dude this was along the trail in OLD TOWN Alexandria, not some distant place. Lots of people go there to enjoy the view across the river!

No one is victim blaming. Just explaining why these people are in the park after it was closed. Parks close at dusk.
