| Any word on whether State will offer VERA/VSIP? |
| I heard OPM declined it. |
| It’s coming - will need to it get to 15% cuts. |
| RIFs will also get to 15%. |
This. OPM declined VERA. Fork 2.0 emailed at State this afternoon. Some CS employees RIFed today. (From offices being eliminated). FS in those offices will be “reassigned”. |
| Fork 2.0 seems to include VERA though, right, from what was released today? |
OPM declined VERA the first time, but they were going to send it back. I assume it got approval, since it's in the FAQs for DRP 2.0. However, there isn't any mention of VSIP. Maybe OPM rejected that? |
| Vera is pointless. A lot of FS can already retire at 50/20. |
| I’m a State civil servant eligible for VERA. If I decline it, I assume I’d still be eligible for DSR if I’m RIFed. But what happens if I survive the re-org (which is likely), but then have my position converted to schedule F and then lose my job? |
I’m in the exact same spot. Very likely to be schedule F. I am trying to figure out if the VERA option is real here. |
VERA option is real. You will not know if you are RIFed pre the DRP window closing, because if they don’t get enough voluntary departures under DRO, they will RIF more people. |
| ^ This should say that you will not necessarily know. Some people got RIFed this week, more coming Monday and more coming after first round review of U/S plans. But, even if you survive all of that, you won’t know for sure that you aren’t RIFed because each family has contingency plans to RIF additional people if the 15% figure isn’t met via DRP. So you can’t count on being able to DRP it RIFed. I know this for sure. |
The Schedule F list is out (in process of being finalized). It’s 200 jobs. You should be able to find out if your job is on it or not. Your EX office knows. |
|
The DRP is not very attractive. Why take it this far into the fiscal year? Wait to get RIf'ed, get 2 to 3 months of notice and reinstatement eligibility.
|
Which offices or bureaus got RIFed? |
