Does your child's team practice over the summer?

If there is a break, from when to when? When does the 'new team' start practicting together? Just wondering what is typical for say, the highest team in an age group.

Last year, the "team" practices ended in early June. Then there were twice a week practices starting in July for the "new" team which became 4 a week in August.. This was U13 ECNL RL level.

So when did spring season practices end and when did fall practices begin?

Yes. Basically all year for club with a few 2-3 week breaks in winter and summer.

Yes for school too. Coach likes to do workouts year-round and starts scrimmages in training in June. "Optional" but it's really not optional to show up at least sometimes.

Our club ends in late May (assuming we don’t make playoffs). Then kicks off with a sleep away camp the week of August 12 then straight into 3x a week practices.

We had one weekly practice in July then 3 a week starting in August. Its honestly just too hot here for outdoor soccer in July-August.

Summer is a great time to focus on strengthening your kid's specific weaknesses
Team training doesn't do that

We end in early June. New team practice starts mid July. I cant remember but think its only 1x weekly until August. So there is about 5 weeks off.

DS has played for many different clubs from u9-u17. Except for one which had some optional summer practices, his teams have not held practice in the summer. The season when younger ended in early June and started back up in mid-August. Once he hit HS, he did summer workouts and summer league with his HS team so at least was still keeping busy. He’s not planning to play varsity senior year so this summer will be different and I wish his team would club hold sessions. But I understand why his club doesn’t do summer training. All the kids are playing HS (fall season) and doing hs summer training/league.
