People who eat in bed, do you feel like you have more bugs in your bedroom than people who do not?

I’ve always heard that eating in the bedrooms, keeping plates, cups, anything that attracts bugs/rodents in the bedrooms will happen.

Is this true?

I’m almost 40 and still never took to the habit of eating outside the kitchen/dining room. I will say we lived in multiple apts downtown where neighbors had rodents and roaches and they never came thru the walls to our units but I can’t say it was because we kept food contained to only two areas either.

I do not understand people who eat in their bed.

If an apartment truly has a pest problem, even if you never eat in your apartmetn, you probably will not be spared.

I don't do this but I understand that people in less-than-ideal roommate or family or other situations might be forced to do this.

My wife leaves stacks of plates by her computer in the bedroom all the time, but we don't have bug problems in the bedroom at all.

No? How are you all eating that you have bugs from it?

You will see it in the kitchen too or panty.
If bugs come in they will find food.

This -- my bedroom is also my office and I eat snacks in there (at my desk, not in bed) during the day and often have tea or water in there and am not super diligent about clearing my dishes immediately. But we don't have bugs in our bedroom.

Actually, the one room where we have sometimes had a pest problem is an enclosed porch off the kitchen, and I know it has to do with leaving the door open in that room. There's a screen which keeps out flies, mosquitos, and bees, but we have had an ant issue in there before. There are a lot of plants in that room as well and I do think they attract the ants. But we've had it treated a few times and we set out traps and can generally get the problem to go away in a week or two. The ants have never gotten into the rest of the house even though the kitchen is adjacent to the porch room.

I have a horror of eating in bedrooms, but if you're careful, I suppose it's fine.

"more bugs" ??? We don't have any bugs in our house regardless of where we eat.

Same with mice, plus mice are also looking for warmth and shelter so they will come in to your home even if you have zero food in the house.

I eat in my bed occasionally and have never seen a bug in the bedroom. I also don't have bugs in my kitchen.

Eating in bed right now 😂 I probably do this 1-2x per week. We have never had a provlem w bugs or other pests in our house (by which I mean that everyone has bugs in their house whether you know it or not. But we’ve never had a bug problem.) I am a clean eater (I don’t spill crumbs everywhere.) and I never leave food out and always clean up my dishes right away. we are generally very clean ppl who keep a clean house and are diligent about closing doors and keeping screens on any open windows.
