Change in Diversity at schools ?

Anonymous
Have you noticed differences in your school?

I think in a very subtle way private schools are starting to withdraw DEI activities. I started to notice that in the last two months. Way less DEI activities. I was wondering if this is happening in other schools. I am not against DEI. What I am surprised is about the apparent change in policies without announcing them. Somehow the school seems to be afraid of future changes in government policies for schools (an example is the attempt to remove the tax status in Harvard).

No, no noticeable difference.

Public schools are moving quickly. It seems that one option to maintain to diversity is to switch the concept of income diversity that would be more palatable for the government (at least for public schools and colleges).

Is your school doing that?

My school is currently downplaying diversity without saying anything or announcing any change in policy.

Interesting. What sorts of things are they doing? Is this in the DMV?

Yes . DMV. there were almost weekly activities cherishing diversity in terms of gender, religion, race, and nationality. But there has been a decline in those activities. Not disappearing but I believe is pivoting.

Oh well. I guess your school shifts with the prevailing winds. Sad.

I agree. The worst part is the lack of transparency and accountability.

But maybe there could be a new version of DEI that does not generate so much polarization in the society.

We just celebrated Holi at our school.

Are you going to do anything about it?

I do not agree with all of the DEI agenda but some parts yes. so for the time being i will assess how it evolves. I wanted to know if something similar is happening in other schools.

You should at least pursue greater transparency right now.
