ASA GA Blind offering players

Anonymous
Bit of a strange one—ASA GA just sent a blind offer for my DD, who played with them years ago before it all blew up. We haven’t heard from them in ages, and suddenly they pop up with an offer and 48-hour deadline. No prior contact, just the offer out of nowhere. Not sure how they even found our info again.

My DD is dedicated, but she's not exactly a standout right now, so it feels a little random. And the fee is $4K, which seems pretty high for this area. Anyone else getting offers like this?

4k is pretty standard for GA/ECNL
The other part is not. Is she a goalie?

What age group?

I haven’t heard that and there was good attendance at the ID sessions. Is it possible it’s a mistake? You are better off reaching out to the coach vs an anonymous board if this happened to get your questions answered.

Did you register for tryouts even if she didn’t attend? That could be the reason.

Probably a mistake… our last club did something similar a year ago. You will probably receive a follow up e-mail.

Or, maybe, a coach vouched for her and convinced the GA coach that she should be sent an offer. Much like ECNL, GA must register teams with robust rosters, so they really want to get 18 on the squad?

I have heard the same rumor about every one but one of the new GA teams (and one established one) in the NOVA area over the course of ID season. To me, the blind offer rumor feels more likely to be coming from parents worried their DC's team may lose players to these new platforms vs. clubs tracking down players--and their PlayMetrics or Demosphere accounts--and sending out offers without ever seeing those players; especially one that is "not exactly a standout right now."

Prove it. I've received emails from ASA which were sent to me by accident. It's possible this happened here. However, if it was a mistake that doesn't make it a false claim.
