With a failing economy and the elimination of programs like this, I guess Trump just wants everyone under 23 to go into the military?

Hasn't our own Dept of Defence failed multiple audits and costs tax payers sh*t ton more with waste and fraud and inefficiencies. I hear Trump and DOGE are going to review it but that was a couple months ago and has anything happened? Seems like it was smoke and mirrors and lies, as usual.

There are staff that line up the volunteer opportunities, who measure "success' etc. In the grand scheme of things, it isn't a lot of our budget but it has generate a ton of goodwill and experience and had meaningful impact on the communities where the volunteers serve.

Sounds like a good idea. Many European countries have mandatory service.

Everyone having a degree in theatre arts or gender studies or basket weaving hasn’t really been the panacea it was sold to us as, either.
